TON Proxy

TON Proxy is a system of decentralized proxy servers based on TON blockchain.

Thanks to a self-organizing distributed network and encryption technology (I2P), the service provides anonymity, security and free access to the Internet.

Advantages of using TON Proxy:

Hides IP address from visited websites, making it difficult to track online activity;
Shields transmitted data;
Provides access to websites that are blocked in certain regions.

TON Proxy Limitations:

TON Proxy may slow down your Internet connection speed;
Some sites may not be available.

How TON Proxy works

The user sends a request to a resource on the network;
The data is encrypted using the I2P method;
The data is sent to the nearest TON proxy server;
TON Proxy redirects the encrypted traffic to the requested resource;
The resource's response is decrypted by the server and sent to the user.

Each TON proxy server can act as a sender and receiver of data, this creates a self-organizing network.

TON Proxy ensures the privacy of its users. Data is encrypted and transmitted through secure communication channels. The service is resistant to censorship, allows you to bypass blocking by ISPs or government agencies; it can be used to implement VPN services.

I2P Encryption

With I2P encryption, all packets are encrypted on the sender side and decrypted only on the receiver side, with no intermediate exchange participants being able to intercept the data.

Connecting to a public server

To access TON network, the user will need to set up a browser according to instructions by connecting to one of TON's public proxy servers. Once configured, it will be possible to visit .ton sites using standard browsers and without the need for extensions.

Services

You can also use the service ton.run to browse .ton sites. However, it is worth noting that when using:

all traffic goes through the ton.run service;
it can be blocked by your ISP at any time.

Browser extensions

At the time of writing, the ability to connect to TON Proxy is available in the browser extension MyTonWallet. The use of extensions allows the user to browse TON sites without having to change browser settings or use third-party services.

Browser

TON Browser was announced at the The Gateway Conference in 2023. The browser is developed based on Chromium and integrated with TON. With TON Browser, the user will be able to use TON features without installing additional extensions and proxies. The program is scheduled for release in 2024.
