Hamster Kombat is a tap game in which the protagonist, a Hamster, poses as the director of a cryptocurrency exchange. The game works as a mini app in Telegram. In order to play, you need to regularly log into the app, click (tap) the Hamster, pump boosts, complete tasks, solve bonus ciphers, pump passive income (mining), play mini-games, and develop your own profitability strategy.

Hamster launched on March 26, 2024 amid the popularity of Notcoin, which stopped the ability to mine on April 1. The project became an influential event in the cryptocurrency world — it managed to create the largest community and introduced many people to cryptocurrency and Web3. The game has an audience of more than 300M users from 190 countries. Hamster has a large English-language Youtube channel with more than 37M subscribers and 1.2B video views, as well as 17 regional channels in other common languages. The project also has the largest channel on Telegram with over 56M subscribers. The X (Twitter) has over 14M followers.

The project’s token is present on top crypto exchanges. First of all, the listing took place on Binance. Trading is also available on the P2P marketplace in Telegram.

Season 1 Game Features

Mining — passive income, which can be increased with the help of in-game coins. These coins can be used to buy upgrade cards. Passive mining takes place for 3 hours, after which you need to re-enter the application.

Boosters – improvements that allow you to increase the efficiency of hamster tapping. Since you can't tap the hamster indefinitely due to the energy limit being exhausted, you can buy a multitap (getting several coins per tap) and more energy. Each increase in this level requires more and more coins.

Boosters — a system of ranking players by levels depending on the number of coins. There are the following levels: Bronze (0 — 5K), Silver (5K — 25K), Gold (25K — 100K), Platinum (100K — 1M), Diamond (1M — 2M), Epic (2M — 10M), Legendary (10M — 50M), Owner (50M — 100M), Grandmaster (100M — 1B), Master (1B — 18B), Creator (18B and more).

Skins — the ability to change the hamster's image, acquiring a new look for in-game currency. Initially there were 18 skins: Default, Marta, Homie, Fighty, Rockstar, Fanky, Punky, Groovy, Funny, Hamstervestor, Busy, Smarty, Spacy, Bravy, Genius, Wisy, Gravity, Apolo. The prices for skins ranged from 2.5 to 200M coins. Only the naked hamster skin at the beginning of the game was free.

After Pavel Durov's arrest, another skin called Crypty was added. Later, during the Interlude season, new skins were added and the fee for using them was canceled. Skins do not give in-game benefits, but they do give you the ability to distinguish yourself from other players.

Combo Cards — 3 random task cards to pump and get 5M coins for it. New combinations of combo cards were given out every day. Many bloggers tried to be the first to publish on their channels the ready answers, which cards should be chosen, which significantly increased the engagement and audience of the game.

Encryption — a special word encoded in Morse code. It can be entered by long (dash) and short (dot) taps. Solving the encrypted word allows you to get an additional number of coins.

Key — a reward for completing a mini-game, which can be earned by entering a special code obtained for participating in the game. The availability of keys was essential in the subsequent AirDrop.

Achievements — a section with statistics, which shows the activities that the player has performed. Achievements have subsections: pumping maps to different levels, collecting coins, invited friends, profits per hour, Youtube video views, subscriptions, unlocked skins.

Tokenomics

The game token has ticker $HMSTR. The total supply is 100B $HMSTR. The initial supply was 64.375B $HMSTR, which is 64.375% of the total supply.

Token Distribution

The distribution of $HMSTR tokens is as follows:

  • The largest portion is allocated to the Season 1 players rewards.
  • 4 times less tokens will be allocated to the players of the Season 2.
  • A significant part (8%) of tokens will be allocated to the project team, and the distribution of these tokens will be gradual.
  • 6% to support the project Ecosystem — partnerships and grants.
  • 4% as liquidity and to stabilize the exchange rate on exchanges
  • 4% for advertising the token and the project
  • 3% for Binance's Binance Launchpool participants (staking the token on the listing)

AirDrop

On Sept. 20, snapshot of achievements was taken. 131M players qualified for the Sept. 26 giveaway, but about 2.3M were banned as cheaters. Those who used autoclicker, keypicking (Brute-force), or showed other suspicious cheating-like activity were banned. In total, about 6.8B tokens were taken away from the cheaters.

To the remaining participants, 60% of the total issue will be distributed after the Season 1.

Of this amount, users received 88.75% immediately during the distribution, while the remaining 11.25% will be reserved and unlocked ten months after the listing. AirDrop was conducted in three ways: to the @Wallet wallet, to an account on the exchange, or within the Hamster app. It was conducted using Mintless Jetton technology. Thus, Hamster held the largest AirDrop in the history of cryptocurrencies.

After several months of active participation, the average player earned around $2000-3000 $HMSTR. The amount received depended on several important factors:

— passive income (profits per hour);

— the number of completed tasks;

— the number of referrals, and the quality of referrals — whether they are live people or bots;

— achievements;

— keys.

It was also necessary to have a subscription to the channel in Telegram and a @Wallet added to the game to receive tokens.

Influencers, who attracted a large number of referrals, earned the most tokens. It was thanks to their activity that Hamster quickly became popular.

Interlude

«Interlude» was an intermediate stage between the first and Season 2. Its duration was several weeks. During this time you can’t tap anymore, there are no secret ciphers and combo cards, and you can earn in-game currency (diamonds) by completing tasks. Diamonds should bring an advantage in the Season 2. During the «Interlude» you can activate any skin for free.
