Society DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is an organization built on The Open Network (TON) with the purpose of providing a lasting solution to challenges relating to centralized governance inside TON Ecosystem to further reinforce its commitment to decentralization. This architecture promises improved transparency, inclusivity, and resilience, thereby positioning TON blockchain as a community-driven platform.

Purpose of Society DAO

Decentralization is an integral part of TON and has been since its establishment. Proof-of-work mining enabled an equitable start for the network, allowing users to earn stakes independently of centralized organizations. TON is a community-built blockchain, facilitated by the expansion of its community of developers, validators, and Ecosystem contributors through the years. However, as the network grew, issues with centralized governance surfaced, like operational inefficiencies and dependence on centralized resources.

By developing a model of governance that democratizes access to human, social, and financial capital and redistributes authority to the community, Society DAO promises to solve these issues. The objective is to develop a competitive Ecosystem that fosters freedom and creativity.

Vision of Society DAO

Key Features of Society DAO

Society DAO provides a methodical framework for community involvement, where:

TON Ecosystem goals are openly stated objectives that are evaluated every six months to make sure they are in line with the community's vision.
DAO members can suggest solutions with quantifiable, time-bound outcomes via community proposals.
As part of working group evaluations, specialized groups assess proposals to ensure they are aligned and practical.
Grants and accountability guarantee that TON Foundation funds approved projects and that selected teams are held accountable for attaining expected outcomes.

Initial objectives include making TON the most scalable blockchain, increasing the developer and user base in super app markets, and establishing TON as a bridge to real-world cryptocurrency use cases.

Society DAO and Competition

Competition is one of Society DAO's principles. The DAO prevents monopolization, promotes a variety of strategies, and improves TON Ecosystem by making sure that a minimum of two projects compete in each category. While TON Core Technologies LLC has been incorporated in Dubai, the team continues to develop the technology and open source code of TON on a non-commercial basis.

TON Society’s primary mission is to uphold and advance the principles of decentralization, transparency, and collaboration. By managing community operations, TON Society enables TON Ecosystem to grow sustainably while maintaining a focus on user empowerment and innovation.

While the exact role of Wallet in Telegram within Society DAO has not been stated officially, one major general function is to advance TON’s mission to make blockchain technology accessible and usable for every one of the over 1 billion monthly active users of Telegram. Its primary focus is driving the adoption of cryptocurrency payments within TON Ecosystem and beyond, leveraging the reach of Telegram as its core platform.
