A cold wallet is a cryptocurrency wallet that remains disconnected from the Internet or other unsecured networks while inactive.
This security measure provides an additional level of protection compared to the more common hot wallets – software wallets on users' devices or web wallets.

This type of wallet is considered the most secure due to the minimal risk of hacking, however there is the possibility of a software failure. Ledger
This vendor offers two Cold Wallet options – Ledger Nano S Plus and Ledger Nano X, which have different design and functionality.
Both devices resemble a flash drive and can be connected to a PC without cables. They have an OLED screen with a resolution of 128×64 pixels and a USB-C port.
Ledger devices are based on the Secure Element chip and Ledger's proprietary operating system called BOLOS.With regular software updates, the wallets can store many popular tokens and NFTs. To use it, you need to install the Ledger Live app, which is available for mobile devices and PCs.
As for the technical component, the wallets contain two encryption chips that guarantee reliable protection. In addition, PIN setting and two-factor authentication via phone number are available. Compatible with macOs, Windows, Ubuntu LTS and Android.
SafePal
This vendor of Cold Wallets offers several variants of devices with different designs and feature sets. The following devices are available for sale:
- SafePal X1 with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, 1.8-inch monochrome display;
- SafePal S1 with a camera for scanning QR codes, a 1.3-inch IPS screen and no network access;
- SafePal S1 Pro – an improved version of the previous device with similar features. It differs in design, body materials and larger battery.
These are small-sized cold wallets with USB-C connectivity. The appearance and size of the devices are similar to a credit card.
The wallets are compatible with most popular cryptocurrencies and easily integrates with DeFi platforms. They also support NFT across multiple networks. SafePal also integrates Binance, which speeds up the process of working with the platform. Each wallet features a CC EAL5+ (Secure Element) security chip and a self-liquidation mechanism in case of unauthorized access. PIN and password setting is also supported.

Tangem
Tangem Wallet is a wallet that supports multiple currencies. Its feature is the lack of recovery keys (seed-phrase) for accessing the wallet. Instead, private keys are created by the Tangem chip, which provides an additional level of protection.
To protect yourself against possible loss of the card, it is suggested to use two or three Tangem Wallet cards as backups. The cryptocurrency wallet takes the form of a regular bank card. One of these cards becomes the main card and the rest can be kept in a safe place. All cards are identical in their functionality and are able to work independently of each other.
Crypto-assets can only be accessed with a physical card and password, which provides an additional level of security. Tangem cryptocurrency wallet is only compatible with NFC-enabled smartphones and does not connect to PCs via cable or Bluetooth. Along with this, biometric authentication is supported when using the Tangem application.
